The Francesca De Leo Alberti Farm is located on the Piani della Corona, in the Covala district, in Bagnara Calabra, and is a reality that produces excellent products that the Calabrian territory offers, such as: extra virgin olive oil, bergamot specialties, jams and desserts.
Francesca De Leo Alberti is the owner, heir to a centuries-old family tradition in olive production in the area and not. Above all, Francesca inherited her love for the land and for agriculture from her father Antonio De Leo.

Today, the Company can count on the strength and creativity of an all-female business group: the owner, her daughter Giulia who has chosen to follow the paths of agriculture and the production of their Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil, and other collaborators. This functional team is able to make the most of all the resources offered by the territory in its full respect.

We like these artisans, these producers of unique, certified and award-winning delicacies: they are real treasures embedded in our Peninsula between seas and mountains and in the most remote streets of villages and countryside.   • Who are we talking to?
    I am Giulia, daughter of the owner of the company.
  • Is the company family run? What year was the company founded and who was the founder?
    The company was founded in 1989 and has always been family-run. We are now in the fourth generation.
  • Who was the founder and what was his training or what is the branch of work and professional from which he came if different from the current one?
    My mother Francesca de Leo founded it with the production of Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil. First there was my grandfather, but there were other ways of working and other productions such as the forest one.
  • What is the real reason or the triggering fact behind the birth of this company and when did it happen?
    Certainly the continuity in agriculture that, even in different ways, characterized the generations before us.
  • What is your relationship with the land of origin and its typicality? And why do you want to tell them with your products?
    It is a deep love, difficult to explain, for a land of many facets. After studying and working as a fashion designer, without thinking about it, I decided to return and help my mother and to this day I don't regret my choice.
  • What was the first product you created?
    Our Oil.
  • What is the product that today, on the other hand, do you consider “top”?
    Always him, Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil.
  • And what is the product that in the entire history of the company has most carried with it the beating heart, philosophy and soul of the company itself?
    As above. In the oil there is truly the soul of our company.
  • Let's talk about today: how big has the company grown since its inception? Can we get some numbers?
    The hectares are currently the same. We always added young plants about 5 years ago of our local Cultivar, the Ottobratica.
  • Right now: more tradition or more innovation?
    Both today are extremely important factors as I see it.
  • What was the most important evolution of the company to get it to what it is today?
    Tenacity, patience. Evolution needs its times and agriculture must not upset it.
  • Speaking instead of the future: what tomorrow will the company wait for? Are there any changes or some new evolutionary process planned?
    We have projects that concern another type of cultivation but above all a project that can allow those who want to know us to come and visit us and enjoy our land.
  • Are you planning to create new products?
    Yes, they are in the planning phase.
