Altrocato is a &' a company that was founded between the South Tyrolean Dolomites of Bolzano and Bressanone, where the first fair-trade stores were founded in the early years &' 80. The main purpose is to be able to buy and resell on the market starting directly from producers in the poorest areas of the world, guaranteeing them adequate salaries that respect a decent welfare state. Altrocato is in fact a cooperative that actively supports organic cultivation and other forms of protection of &' environment. Altrocato currently has 300 stores in Italy and 117 members and deals with various production sectors such as crafts, fashion, food and processed foods.
