A warm autumn with a record grape harvest.

This year has been a record harvest! It's said every time, often unnecessarily, but this time it’s truly true. The seasonal trends, both during the vegetative phase and the maturation phase of the grapes, have been practically perfect in almost all of Italy. For the second consecutive year, there are wine-growing areas that are enjoying the exceptional nature of a memorable vintage. Some producers are taking advantage of this and investing in wooden containers to store wine for aging in significant decades-long reserves.
In short, the bottles that will have the number 2016 printed on them will certainly be exciting.

Overall production remains fairly stable, although the approximately 10% drop in production in Tuscany stands out.
This figure depends mainly on a choice of quality and thinning that will ensure better performances for the Tuscany wines. In Veneto, however, production increases by 2%, and the effect of Prosecco - Amarone does not feel any tension drops.
The rise of territories such as Sicilian Etna continues to be best sellers among Italian denominations.

The harvest is a magical time; the scents of the grapes arriving at the wineries intoxicate the valleys and hills of our beautiful country. Thousands of small tractors roam the Italian roads with their load of grapes.
The grape crushers are at their maximum capacity, and the tanks are filling up with musts. In short, another great vintage is starting!
But it’s really true: it’s great!
