The Azienda Agricola Ca’ Viola is a reality that reflects in its excellent wines the concept of territory in its highest and noblest expression.
It was founded out of passion by the winemaker Beppe Caviola in 1991 in his native Montelupo Albese, a small town in the Langhe, starting from a small rented vineyard of Dolcetto. In this place, called Barturot, Beppe Caviola along with his trusted Maurizio, vinify the grapes in the garage of his parents' house: this is the origin of a great success in winemaking.
One day Elio Altare, an already established star of the Barolo galaxy, tasted that wine and encouraged Beppe to bottle it. Thus, 860 bottles of Dolcetto were produced. The first label signed Ca’ Viola.
In Montelupo, Ca’ Viola also manages a small plot of Barbera and decides to vinify it, bringing to light the famous wine "Bric du Luv", which will evolve over the years into Langhe Rosso, and finally Barbera d'Alba, summarizing the evolution happening under the sky of Langhe (you can find the typical products of Langhe here).
In 2002, the Ca’ Viola winery moved to Dogliani in a large 19th-century villa, Villa Bracco, where production, consulting, and tourist hospitality can co-exist harmoniously, united by the same philosophy of simplicity and excellence.
Since 2005, Ca’ Viola has been conducting, along with his brother-in-law Giancarlo Vivalda, a nebbiolo vineyard giving life to the Barolo DOCG Sottocastello di Novello, a red of great quality, energetic, austere, and enchanting, capable of providing a rare pleasure to the palate. A year later, in 2006, the first label of the "King of wines" was born.
Today, the Azienda Agricola Ca’ Viola produces, alongside the historic labels of Barbera and Dolcetto, also a Barolo, which Beppe Caviola defines as "the culmination of a journey", currently boasting 14 hectares of vineyards, divided between Montelupo and Novello.
The wines from the Ca’ Viola winery are true jewels of Langhe, born from the passion and expertise of Beppe Caviola, who has rapidly transformed from a young winemaker to a renowned producer.
We love these realities, these producers of unique, certified, and award-winning delicacies: they are true treasures embedded in our Peninsula between seas and mountains and in the most remote paths of villages and countryside. We do not limit ourselves to living only their products but want to discover more closely the protagonists of this brand. That’s why we sent some questions to those who manage communication with us.
