The France has always created a market for
sparkling rosè and still wines, especially in the Provençal area, which have set trends in other European and international countries.
Rosè has experienced a significant increase in the last decade, especially regarding the sparkling version, mostly Charmat.
Aside from Franciacorta, Trento DOC, and Oltrepò Pavese where tradition lies in bottle fermentation with the Classic Method, in the rest of the country there has been a flurry of these products with more or less significant results.
For example, the producers from the
Garda Veronese and Brescia areas have stood out with excellent performances. The Benazzoli winery has made a name for itself in the French home in Provence being awarded the best
Sparkling Rosè of the Concorse dei Rosè. But there are also other regions that are establishing themselves, such as the southern regions, particularly Puglia and
Sicilia.
The pleasantness of this wine lies in the aromas particularly related to small fruits, forest strawberries, cherries, currants, raspberries, etc... a very seasonal mix tied to the playful moments of summer.
We present two that we have selected for their pleasantness and quality-price ratio, values of the territory that critics have recognized as high quality.
The Bardolino Chiaretto from sisters Benazzoli
A wine of uncontrollable elegance that offers unique fruity sensations and an excellent balance of sapidity and acidity on the palate. A wine for excellent aperitifs and for an entire meal. Ideal for raw fish dishes. Already defined as one of the best rosè in the world, it remains a reference point for Italian rosè enology.
The Bardolino Chiaretto from Giarola Vini
Another very intriguing and highly awarded rosè is that of
Giarola Vini, a farm nestled among the Veronesian morainic hills.
A wine that offers a beautiful array of aromas of small red fruits and a pleasant sensation of freshness and aromatic herbs from the Mediterranean scrub.
In this case, we also recommend it with various savory appetizers and raw fish dishes. It is also ideal for first courses based on seafood and particularly great with baby octopus in sauce.
