Female entrepreneurship: a winding road to success

Female entrepreneurship still has a long way to go. The global workforce is composed more of men than women, and for equal jobs, the latter are paid less than their male colleagues. In Europe and North America, there are fewer women entrepreneurs than in Asia, a continent where some countries even have a majority of women entrepreneurs compared

In young Italian companies, the female presence is even smaller than in companies. Various studies, on the other hand, reveal that startups founded by women are more likely to receive investments than those founded by men alone.

However, there are also some positive signs: in 2021, there was a record number of exits of start-ups founded by women based in Europe, with a total of 23 transactions successfully closed. To support female entrepreneurship in Italy, the Women's Business Fund was established in 2022, with a budget of 200 million euros.

Marinella has been taking care of her vineyards near the province of Verona since the Eighties. Crucial in particular was the year 1985, when, after a terrible harvest, Marinella decided to work hard to bring her grapes to the cellar healthy and ripe. Since that year, the vines of Corte Sant'Alda have only grown luxuriantly, to the point of making the company the successful company that it has become today.
