The Panettone was born among the spires of the Madunina in Milan. Today it has become the dessert of the year-end festivities. There is no Christmas or New Year's Eve that doesn't have its nice piece of Panettone on the table.
There are many artisanal bakeries that reproduce the ancient Ambrosian recipe. We have chosen the delicious leavened pastries of a small but renowned artisanal bakery located in Romito, a small enchanted village among the stones of the hills of Pontedera, in the province of Pisa. Here, Lucilla, Irene, Susanna, and Caterina produce specialties that take inspiration from the ancient recipes of the Tuscan tradition, passed down to them by Grandma Nina, who for years spread smiles and aromas throughout the streets of the town of Pontedera. The leavened pastries are still offered in a purely Tuscan style that recalls the ancient bread-making processes with sourdough. They yield very fragrant, soft, substantial, and consistent products with a delightful creaminess on the palate. They are hand-kneaded and enriched with high-quality candied fruits that melt in your mouth, maintaining an aromatic naturalness that adds particular pleasure to the dough.
These are artisan Panettoni that, when gently warmed in an oven before being served, fill your table with sweet and citrusy fragrances. An ancestral sensation that is hard to achieve with the industrial products of big brands. We recommend pairing it with an excellent sweet sparkling wine typical of the Italian wine tradition, such as Valdobbiadene Cartizze Superiore DOCG, the ideal wine for these high pastry products.
