Great joy for Giovanni, Gildo, and Letizia Roncolato. They have won one of the most prestigious national awards with a cheese that is a must in the company's production history: the Monte Veronese dop d’Allevo - aged 20 months.
The event was held last April at the impressive location of Villa Braida in Mogliano Veneto. An exceptional jury included Alberto Marcomini from Tg5 Gusto, a great expert in cheeses and communicator. Additionally, a true guru, the French Rolan Barthelemy, owner of the most beautiful cheese shop in France and one of the most extraordinary experts in French cheeses.
The Roncolato family from Roncà in Verona (discover their dairy and cheeses) won the award among 2000 participants, which speaks volumes about the value of the achievement.
The Monte Veronese dop d’Allevo represents the history of Veneto cheese production, Veronese and a pride for Lessinia. Giovanni Roncolato has been one of the most active interpreters of the Protected Designation of Origin and a driving force for the product at both national and international levels.
You can find this great cheese in 18-month version on our portal, and we recommend pairing it with a pleasant pear compote or an apple mustard. Also, with a good fresh white wine or a delicate sparkling wine. With a classic Valpolicella for those who love red wine.
We recommend that you enjoy
