Among the mountains of Abruzzo, at &' inside the Gran Sasso National Park, stands the Fattoria Valle Magica. This activity was born where the & #39 was once located; the ancient farm of the monastery of the Barony of Carapelle Calvisio, which was abandoned for many years.
Ralph Boston and Ninke Sengers, in addition to reconstructing a &' historical activity and transforming it, followed a dream, which prompted them to totally change their lives.

Fattoria Valle Magica: the courage of a family pursuing a dream

L&' the idea of Fattoria Valle Magica was born just like this: from a dream that over time seemed ever closer to reality. This is thanks to Ralph and Ninke's determination, and also to a bit of madness.

He is Irish, she is Dutch. At 43, he was the managing director of Amazon Slovakia, she was a neuroscience psychologist at 31: their lives were very hectic and busy, as well as those of their four children Airik, Lucian, Anakin and Nimue.
Ninke assisted Mr. Riccardo, a patient with Alzheimer's disease, resident in the United Kingdom but of Abruzzo origin, for four hours a day, and it is from his stories that the dream took shape.
Riccardo, despite fragmented memories, always spoke of the beauties of &' Abruzzo Montano and his stories have increasingly increased in the couple the desire for a different life, tailored to &' man and in close contact with nature.

So the family decided to move to Carapelle, where they bought the farm with the farmhouse to be restored. The place becomes a laboratory used for the transformation of products, and being surrounded by greenery, surrounded by centuries-old olive, pine and oak trees, it is the ideal home for the many rare breeds of animals, far from &' modern industrial farming.
It took a lot of courage to make a choice of this importance, but the results were excellent and, above all, they were worth the effort.

Fattoria Valle Magica: where nature and tradition come first

L&' Fattoria Valle Magica's primary objective is to give everyone l&' opportunity to rediscover the flavors and habits of the past, through l&' ethical and sustainable breeding of rare and ancient breeds.

The care of &' natural environment is of primary importance, and it is for this reason that the agricultural methods used are traditional, sustainable and not industrial.
An ancient breed that is raised is that of the Nero d& #39 pigs; Abruzzo. In fact, it descends from the black pigs that were brought to Italy by the Romans more than 2000 years ago.
Nero d&' Abruzzo pigs are suitable for natural life and are characterized by quality and flavor. Furthermore, this breed was almost on the verge of extinction, and the farm is one of the few that actively breeds it. #39

The “taste of the past” is obtained with the sum of quality, health and ethics with craftsmanship in a CE certified laboratory.
Fattoria Valle Magica today produces countless types of cold cuts: sausages, ventricina, salami, loin and bacon are just a few.

But Ninke and Ralph's dream doesn't stop there: their spirit of innovation and originality is always moving towards new initiatives, from new products, to trekking with animals, to the educational farm
