Mamma Jumbo Shrimp: the culture of wine within everyone's reach
The common thread of the brand's projects Mamma Jumbo Shrimp is a passion for wine, specifically Italian wine. The philosophy of Mamma Jumbo Shrimp is indeed to educate about the complexity and heterogeneity of Italian wine, using forms of communication and tones accessible even to non-experts. The culture of wine is for everyone: this is the brand's message! And in carrying out this mission, Mamma Jumbo Shrimp provides various tools: podcasts, books and guides, video interviews... in short, there’s something for everyone!
What are the roots of Mamma Jumbo Shrimp?
The project was born during the first lockdown as an opportunity to keep the Team's creativity engaged and to experiment with different social media platforms. First, the brand landed on TikTok, with fun videos and trends. After that, the first editorial project began with the first guide to Italian wine: the Jumbo Shrimp Guide to Italian Wine. This first book was then followed by Jumbo Shrimp Guide to International Grape Varieties in Italy and the latest addition, Vine and Prejudice: fake science and the search for the perfect grape, the new book written by Professor Attilio Scienza.
Mamma Jumbo Shrimp and the editorial proposals
All the books in the Jumbo Shrimp series are published in a handy pocket format that combines accurate content, a simple style, funny stories, and illustrations. Continuing the push to engage and inform, Mamma Jumbo Shrimp then launched its own YouTube channel, where founder Stevie Kim travels through Italy to visit and learn the stories of the most renowned Italian wineries.
The brand's latest addition is the Jumbo Shrimp Wine Study Maps, a two-year project that will see the launch of 40 hand-drawn maps covering the wine regions of the world. This set will later be collected in a book/guide to assist all those who are engaging in the study of Italian wine regions.
