The Grapeheart Gin from Enjoy Valpolicella is a fragrant distillate strongly characterized by Amarone, a true spirit capable of blending the botanical arts of the creators' ancestors with the wine vocation of the Valpolicella region.
The Amarone of Valpolicella, in addition to giving a strong identity to the compound, has precise organoleptic purposes: it gives body and refinement to the gin, keeping it dynamic while simultaneously softening its liveliness.
To capture the aromas of Valpolicella, the production process has been completely customized. The technique used is cold compounding. GrapeHeart Gin is made with 13 hillside botanicals, mainly flowers and medicinal herbs. After drying, the botanicals are infused with “Amarone della Valpolicella”; indeed, an Amarone dew is allowed to settle on them using an ultrasonic sonicator. The botanicals are then cold macerated in grain alcohol. To enhance the drier notes, a distillate obtained solely from the macerated botanicals is added to the compound, then the gin is brought to proof with the addition of spring water.
Botanicals: juniper, angelica, coriander seeds, sage, hyssop, helichrysum, lavender, elderflower, mint, lemon verbena, lemon thyme, rosemary, hibiscus.
Alcohol by volume: 40% Vol.
The Grapeheart Gin by Enjoy Valpolicella is to be enjoyed with the heart. Perfect for a tasting on its own at the end of the evening or even midway through dinner, in this case preferably at half dose and mixed with a flavored tonic or ginger beer. For a classic Gin & Tonic at the end of the meal, a drier and more neutral tonic is recommended. It is advisable to avoid the use of intense aromatic garnishes like lemon peels, rosemary, and cucumber, and to rather hang them at the top of the glass, avoiding contact with the cocktail.
On the nose, it presents itself as intense and captivating: the herbal notes make their entrance immediately, followed by the juniper. Next, a complex floral bouquet unfolds thanks to hyssop, lavender, and elderflower.
On the palate, the floral component allows for a smooth entry, refreshed by the citrus notes of lemon balm (lemon verbena), lemon thyme, and mint. Gradually, the juniper gains importance, while in the finish, the bitter aspects of sage, rosemary, and helichrysum emerge. The role of Amarone is similar to the aging process of wine: it softens the compound, rounds off the more intense flavors, and supports the drinkability.
