Claudio Cipressi XX: scopri i prodotti

The Claudio Cipressi Winery is located in San Felice del Molise, in the province of Campobasso. An area characterized by agricultural landscapes and a rich natural heritage. Claudio Cipressi contributes with his work and passion to enhance this terroir and especially to make known the excellences it can provide. The estate covers a total area of 16 hectares, cultivated with the typical grape varieties of the region: tintilia del Molise, montepulciano, falanghina, and trebbiano.

If for Hemingway, wine is one of the greatest signs of civilization, for Claudio Cipressi it is the distinctive hallmark for enhancing the land where he was born, Molise.
Today, after recovering Tintilia, a DOP that amazes in the glass, he is recovering two other indigenous white grape varieties.
A region with a unique territorial morphology that preserves numerous excellences and great potential, even in the vineyard, with largely unspoiled landscapes.

This is why Claudio, with enthusiasm and conviction for new things, cultivates sixteen hectares of vines every day with native plants: eleven of Tintilia del Molise, three of Montepulciano, two of Falanghina, and one of Trebbiano.

His method is strictly organic for vineyard cultivation, respecting the environment, which this year certifies the company as BIO:
The selection is almost obsessive for the grapes chosen for harvest, because nature presents them healthy and of excellent quality, with a manual selection grape by grape.
In the cellar, Claudio adopts traditional, non-invasive processing methods, paying great attention to the temperatures of the musts and carefully using barrels to age the wine without interfering with the fruit, preserving a flavor that aims to respect the personality of the original grape variety in every sip.

A starting principle that is, according to Claudio, the prerequisite for improving the quality of his products daily, with the desire to genuinely compete the wines of Molise, those of winemaker Cipressi, with other great Italian wines.

He applies a minimalist viticulture in relation to the limited territorial extensions and almost entirely marked by altitude, except for the short stretch of coast between Termoli and Campomarino and surroundings. This signifies an almost extreme, difficult, and demanding viticulture that favors the cultivation of varieties borrowed from neighboring regions: montepulciano and trebbiano from Abruzzo, falanghina and aglianico from Campania, and nero di troia from Puglia.

In this context, there are also advanced and well-equipped companies like Claudio Cipressi Vignaiolo di San Felice del Molise, overseen by winemaker Vincenzo Mercurio, dedicated primarily to promoting and raising awareness beyond borders of the unique Molise indigenous grape variety, tintilia.
