Ferragù: scopri i prodotti

In Sorcè di Sopra, in the rich territory of Valpolicella, it is possible to find Ferragù, a winery founded in 1997 and now one of the reference realities for the production of great Venetian classics, from Amarone to Recioto. Ferragù is the result of the genius of Carlo, who, with his brothers Ornello and Angelo, dedicates himself every day with passion to the production of high-quality labels 100% Made in Veneto that have achieved great success not only in Italy and Europe but also across the ocean thanks to a distinctive quality.

Ferragù and the bond with the territory

The vineyards of Ferragù are located in a hilly area with unique characteristics and lush splendor, lands known for producing some of the most famous red wines of Veneto. We are obviously talking about Valpolicella, a territory that covers the entire foothill area of the province of Verona, starting from Lake Garda to the borders of Vicenza, characterized by a mild, dry, and sunny climate that is beneficial for the vineyards that cover it and for those who, from generation to generation, carry on the winemaking tradition.

But within this vast territory, where is Ferragù located? Precisely, it is in the Val d’Illasi, about twenty kilometers from the city of Verona. This valley has quite a varied landscape, characterized by plains, mountains, and hills for most of its extent. The territory of great red wines of Veneto benefits from a temperate climate that the practical, resolute, and intolerant Carlo relies on. It is thanks to this climate, respected and revered just like the landscape and environmental value of the place, that one of the best Amarones, the Amarone of Ferragù, is produced. It has a garnet red color, an impenetrable purplish hue, and is a significant reality of this valley full of history that has nothing to envy to the Amarone produced in the area west of Verona and should be tasted with calm, slowly, sip by sip.

Ferragù Wines: the nectar of Valpolicella tradition

When the grapes leave the rows, Carlo and his brothers immediately get to work. The Ferragù winery combines tradition – with tools and instruments of the past – and technology, thanks to the most modern machinery. Tradition and modernity blend to recreate an intense and impenetrable ruby red nectar with a sublime and alluring fragrance, with a full and persistent taste.

The grapes are crushed, and the must is transferred to the fermentation tank to macerate for about thirty-five hours at a controlled temperature. Then, fermentation begins, which lasts about ten days. For aging, French and American oak barrels are used, whose essence highlights the aroma of Ferragù wine even more. This process allows for a high-quality product with strong expression and the right alignment of intentions among the Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella, Croatina, and Oseleta grapes. This is precisely why, from the beginning of their activity, the products signed by Ferragù have been able to establish themselves in international markets, reaching the shelves of the most prestigious luxury departments, such as Harrods. Therefore, this should not come as a surprise: at the Ferragù winery, harvest and work follow one another within a productive reality where every bottle tells a story made of vines, territories, and human knowledge.
