The Cantine Strapellum represent a passion of over twenty years in search of the unique flavors of white, red, rosé, sparkling, and frizzante wines from the land of Basilicata.
Cantine Strapellum: a combination of tradition and innovation
In 1997, thanks to the dream of the Grandparents, Cantine Strapellum was born, carrying the ancient name of the town of Rapolla, a colony of Magna Graecia founded probably in the 5th century B.C.. The Strapellum wineries are located at the foot of Monte Vulture, an ancient extinct volcano. The project started with great enthusiasm and energy in the family winery, modernized and perfectly equipped, and from the only company vineyard planted in 1975, just after the birth of the DOC.
The first years were dedicated to study, trials, and experiments, to understand the limits and potential of the company and the vineyard. Meanwhile, however, the first bottles of wine began to be produced.
The 2010 was a turning point thanks to the entry of the new generation, Giuseppe Cuseo and Michele Turtora, a productive collaboration started at the Cantina Di Palma, an important winery in Vulture, where production increased and it was decided to expand the production range by adhering to an ancient tradition of production in Vulture, that of sparkling wine production. The company made productive investments, such as autoclaves and an isobaric bottling line.
The Strapellum wineries are always in tune with new innovations, while always maintaining the care and attention that tradition and the grandparents have left behind.
Cantine Strapellum: quality wines with a unique flavor
The Cantine Stapellum extends for 43 hectares of vineyards with different terrains at varying altitudes, thus providing a complete view of the viticultural panorama of Vulture. White grape varieties such as Fiano, Greco, and Malvasia are also planted.
Incredible grapes whose quality and aromas depend heavily on the volcanic soil of Monte Vulture, an ancient volcano that has been dormant for about 140,000 years but has enriched the surrounding area with nutrients over a long period through its numerous volcanic eruptions, creating the perfect conditions for the current cultivation of Aglianico.
The latter is at the center of the business project of Cantine Strapellum as evidenced by the presence of a wide collection of wines: whites, reds, rosés, sparkling, and frizzante. Wines that over time have been awarded multiple recognitions at the national and international level. The range features high-level wines resulting from complex work in oenology and the use of cutting-edge techniques such as white winemaking.
The Cantine Strapellum is a young company, led by young people who daily invest time and resources in their business project. It is an ambitious, solid, and exciting project that has brought multiple accolades including the Awards from The Wine Hunter.
