Fattoria Cretarola is a farm located in the heart of Abruzzo, at the gates of Penne, one of the most beautiful villages in Italy in the province of Pescara, and its products narrate the true essence of the territory.
Fattoria Cretarola: 12 hectares of land that tell a story
It is precisely this vastness of territory that hosts olives, tomatoes, vines, and fruit trees: 12 hectares within the green region, which is among the best for the production of extra virgin olive oil. The oil is indeed the flagship product of the company: here, in fact, centuries-old castiglionese plants are cultivated, which give life to one of the four varieties of cold-pressed oils, along with dritta, leccino, and peranzana.
In addition to olives, there are also tomatoes: the characteristic pear-shaped tomato destined for tomato sauces that are made according to the ancient peasant tradition at the end of the summer season. But that’s not all, because among the crops, grapes, figs, and apricots are also grown, with which jams and preserves are produced.
The territory exudes tradition, the history of a family that has passed the baton for three generations, whose philosophy has always been to offer products from the region while preserving local tradition. Although tradition is the key to success, there is certainly no lack of innovation: the continuous search for modern techniques to combine with ancient customs is the driving force of the farm.

Danilo and Manuel today manage the company and represent the third generation of the family. Embracing the ideals of Fattoria Cretarola, in 2017 they took over the farm that was established by their grandparents. Care, attention, and quality are the cornerstones on which production is based.
It is precisely the two brothers who take care of the entire production process: Manuel is committed to the cultivation and processing of the products, with great dedication and consistency, while Danilo focuses on promoting local excellences.
And so, with the love and passion that have been passed down to them, the two brothers work daily to achieve a genuine dream that originated near the center of Penne, but extends to every corner of the Italian boot. Being born into a family so tied to their territory has made Manuel and Danilo grow with an awareness of the resources that the land can offer, but also with a great feeling of respect for the surrounding environment.
Every product is cared for with love, and the oil is truly the one that, more than any other, expresses their land. Why? Because it is that magical ingredient that completes every dish and enriches it, just as the territory enriches the region in which they were born, Abruzzo.
