In 1938 in Fregona, in the high Treviso region, the Cansiglio Cooperative was founded. A reality that continues today and gathers all the shepherds and small producers from this area of Veneto. For some time it operated as a rotating dairy; practically, milk producers could bring their product here, have it processed by the cheese makers, and then sell it privately.
 

Where is Agricansiglio located?

The Cansiglio is a beautiful area at the foothills of the Cansiglio Forest, an unspoiled area where the pastures are rich in flowers and rare botanical species. Only milk from the members in the provinces of Belluno, Treviso, and Pordenone is used here. About fifty members adhere to the Cooperative. We have chosen the Moesìn of Fregona, which is the most typical whole cow's milk product of mountain families. A cheese that works very well with traditional mountain cuisine, due to its melting qualities and the pleasant creaminess it releases, for example, with polenta and in fillings for lasagna and tortelli.
