The Cleopatra Agricultural Company is the daughter of a Brescia girl's passion for nature, Laura Moleri, who moved to Sardinia to cultivate saffron, legumes, and other aromatic herbs along with her Sardinian fiancé Alessandro. Besides the love for the land, the other ingredients that make this company an excellent reality are the sun and wind of Sardinia, the quality of the soil, and the saltiness of the sea that washes over this magnificent island and is felt everywhere.

Cleopatra Agricultural Company: the story

We are in San Gavino Monreale, in Sardinia, in the middle of the Campidanese plain, with its splendid climate and somewhat wild nature. In this area, the balance between the excellent microclimatic conditions, the perfect mineral composition of the soil, and the high underground humidity gives rise to products of the highest quality. The company combines the skills of both Laura and Alessandro: a true return to nature by two young people who said no to consumerism, globalization, and the chaotic life of cities. After a long period of apprenticeship in other fields, the two slightly older-than-thirty individuals have come back to believe in something truly possible: cultivating the land to obtain healthy and genuine products, respecting seasonality and traditions. The Cleopatra Agricultural Company is named after Cleopatra, the couple's first dog, a true lover of nature with a big heart: now that she is no longer with us, Laura wanted to pay tribute to her by honorably carrying on her name!

Saffron of the highest quality and more

Laura and Alessandro are direct growers of top-quality saffron, using ancient organic methods and processing it entirely by hand to respect the purity of the product. The saffron is cultivated in the Masoni Frigau area: in 1206, the border between the Giudicato D'Arborea and that of Cagliari passed through here, and military fortifications and important customs monarchic buildings were located here. The Cleopatra Agricultural Company is also working to recover a 10-year-abandoned field, thus providing added value. Alongside saffron, many other plant species are cultivated, such as oregano, sage, nettle, thyme, and borage. Moreover, many types of legumes are the pride of Sardinia!
