Di Giovanna: scopri i prodotti

The company Di Giovanna is a producer of high-quality wine and is located in an unexpected area of Sicily.

Di Giovanna Wines: the Sicily you don’t expect

When we talk about Sicily, we almost always think of the sea, the beaches, and long sun-drenched expanses, but this is not exactly the case: the Di Giovanna company, in fact, is located in an oasis of biodiversity within the Monte Genuardo Nature Reserve. Here, a true mountain viticulture is practiced, with altitudes reaching up to 850 meters above sea level.

Di Giovanna has a long winemaking tradition that has lasted for five generations. In the 1980s, the family vineyards were consolidated and replanted when Barbara and Aurelio Di Giovanna embarked on a journey towards a quality philosophy together with their sons Gunther and Klaus. Today, it is these two expert and passionate brothers who manage the company with the assistance of Gianfranco Zito, who takes care of all winemaking operations.

Di Giovanna: high-quality wines from organic farming

The Di Giovanna company consists of 56 hectares of vineyards planted on limestone-rich soil in the higher areas (850 m) in Sambuca di Sicilia and with a higher presence of tuff, of volcanic origin, as one descends to the hills of Contessa Entellina (400 m). The vines are trained to a trellis system with spur pruning. All this is in certified organic farming.

The family owns five estates (Miccina, Gerbino, Paradiso, San Giacomo, and Fiuminello) located in the small DOCs of Contessa Entellina and Sambuca di Sicilia, in the heart of the Terre Sicane.
The Miccina, Gerbino, and Paradiso vineyards are situated at an average altitude between 350 and 480 meters above sea level in the territory of Contessa Entellina.
The San Giacomo and Fiuminello vineyards (680-830 meters above sea level) climb the slopes of Monte Genuardo and surround the winery.
The new vineyards, after careful micro-pedoclimatic studies, have been planted choosing international and indigenous varieties. The white varieties include Chardonnay, Grillo, and Viognier. The red varieties include Nero d’Avola, Nerello Mascalese, and Syrah.

The wines of Di Giovanna are characterized by expressive savory notes and a distinct yet elegant personality. These are wines that arise from artisan hands and retain a strong typicity of the territory, the heart of the Terre Sicane. The annual production of the company is 250,000 bottles.
