Vini Di Giovanna: the Sicily you don't expect

When we talk about Sicily, we almost always think of the sea, beaches, long sunny areas, but this is not exactly the case: l&' Di Giovanna's company, in fact, is located in a &' an oasis of biodiversity within the Protected Nature Reserve of Monte Genuardo. Here, real mountain viticulture is practiced, with peaks of altitude that are 850 meters above sea level.

Di Giovanna has a long winemaking tradition that has lasted five generations. In the 80s, the family vineyards were consolidated and replanted, when Barbara and Aurelio Di Giovanna began a journey towards a philosophy of quality together with their children Gunther and Klaus. Today it is precisely these two brothers, experts and enthusiasts, who manage l&' company with l&' assistance from Gianfranco Zito, who deals with all winemaking operations

Di Giovanna: high quality wines from organic farming

The Di Giovanna company consists of 56 hectares of vineyards planted on soil with a strong calcareous component in the highest areas (850 m) in Sambuca di Sicilia and with a greater presence of tuff, of volcanic origin as you descend to the hills of Contessa Entellina (400 m). The vines are raised in espaliers with spurred cordon pruning. All in certified organic farming.

The family owns five estates (Miccina, Gerbino, Paradiso, San Giacomo and Fiuminello) that are located in the small DOC of Contessa Entellina and Sambuca di Sicilia, in the heart of the Sicilian Lands.
The Miccina, Gerbino and Paradiso vineyards are located at an average altitude between 350 and 480 meters above sea level, in the territory of Contessa Entellina.
The San Giacomo and Fiuminello vineyards (680-830 meters above sea level) climb the slopes of Monte Genuardo and surround the winery.
The new vineyards, after careful micro-pedoclimatic studies, have been planted choosing international and native varieties. White varieties include Chardonnay, Grillo, and Viognier. The red ones: Nero d'Avola, Nerello Mascalese and Syrah.

Di Giovanna's wines are united by expressive sapid notes and a strong but elegant personality. These are wines that are born from an artisan hand and that preserve a strong typicality of the territory, the heart of the Sicilian Lands. The company's annual production is 250,000 bottles
