The Società Agricola Bonfanti Sergio S.S. is a &' family-run winery located in Valpolicella. The mind and creator of this business is Sergio Bonfanti, an entrepreneur with a great passion for wine, in fact at the beginning of the 2000s he purchased a small farm of about 5 hectares located 350 meters above sea level, in Localita Quinzano in the Valpolicella DOC area, just five km from Verona.
The story of Sergio Bonfanti is the story of a man willing to risk everything to pursue his dreams: and in fact, despite not coming from the wine sector but from the engineering sector, he has confidently invested in a new activity that with great passion is making space in the national and international markets, bringing him closer to important oenologists and agronomists in the
wine field.
The company's philosophy is focused on the territory where the wine produced is the expression of its terroir, of the calcareous soil, of the climate influenced by the proximity of the pristine woods, and of the work of man. The small size of the vineyard has made it possible to treat it carefully and with diligence like a small creature.
All this has made it possible to enhance the characteristics of the soil, adopting cultural practices that allow obtaining high quality grapes, abandoning synthetic products such as pesticides and herbicides. The Bonfanti vineyard and winery are certified organic, so all production, harvest and vinification procedures, carried out under the control and dictates of qualified oenologists, comply with the regulations for organic wines, issued by the EU. Every phase of the vinification process operates in full respect of organic production and in full respect of environmental needs.
The Bonfanti Farm firmly believes in the principles of tradition and sustainability, in fact respect for tradition, the typicality of wines and the protection of nature are and will be the values that will be
handed down to future generations.
The wines of the Bonfanti company are nothing more than the extraordinary result of what Valpolicella offers: it is the climate, the air, the sun and the earth that allow the cultivation of a unique, aromatic grape with an intense flavor.
The Bonfanti vineyard is located on the Valpolicella hills, on soils rich in calcareous and fossil deposits that overlook Quinzano and that offer the vineyard a privileged position facing south-south/west, where exposure to the sun is perfect for grape ripening. And in fact, the climate is another advantage. Overall mild throughout the year, the territory boasts total protection north of the Lessini mountains and good exposure to light to the south, allowing the vineyards to be pampered by a Mediterranean-type sun throughout the maturation phase. But, clearly, good wine also requires a lot of technique and Sergio Bonfanti knows this well, which is why extreme care is dedicated to every single phase of vineyard processing, using, for example, organic fertilizers and techniques such as shearing, leaving the residues in place, a step that allows a natural enrichment of organic substances. And to fully respect the territory that offers so much, the company has also decided to invest in the exclusive use of drip water systems, an essential tool for minimizing water waste

Valpolicella is the land that gives rise to some of the most famous Italian Doc and Docg red wines. In addition to the cultivation of typical Venetian varieties such as Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella, Garganega, Glera and Molinara, to which 90% of the production of Bonfanti Vini is dedicated, the company has planted international vines such as Chardonnay and Merlot and vines such as Croatina and Moscato Giallo. The grapes of the Bonfanti Winery are harvested by hand and vinified by hand in the Negrar Winery; there the main vinification, aging and bottling operations are concentrated according to the typical procedures of
organic wines.
The production of the Bonfanti winery ranges from red wines to white wines and sparkling wines, but they are the first to be the real protagonists. From Valpolicella Docg to &' Amarone through Rosso Verona IGT: Bonfanti's red wines are intense, characterized by good softness and with non-aggressive tannins. Highly appreciated wines, multi-awarded and also recognized with some Awards from The Wine Hunter. The white wines produced by the winery use Garganega and Chardonnay grapes. In addition to these in the catalog c&' it is also a rosé and two sparkling wines called Prosecco Millesimato BRUT DOC and Fior d'Arancio DOCG produced with Glera and Moscato Giallo grapes
