Panizzi is a company founded in 1989 by Giovanni Panizzi and has been one of the most prestigious producers in the area of San Gimignano since its inception.

Panizzi is recognized as a leader for the modern style and iconic quality of the production of Vernaccia di San Gimignano.

Research and experimentation in the vineyard and in the cellar are the pillars of the company's production philosophy.

The Panizzi winery, in fact, was the first winery to successfully enhance the aging of pure Vernaccia in barrels, proposing a model based on a production of the highest quality and continuous research through viticulture that respects and rigorous the identity of the territory, allowing this grape variety to reveal its great peculiarities and characteristics.

In the production of its wines, Panizzi is guided, with great determination and without compromise, by two important guidelines: identity and quality.

Its mission is to create terroir wines but also highly aged wines.

The Panizzi winery is located just outside the walls of San Gimignano with a property of 60 hectares of vineyards. Every year it produces 200,000 bottles entirely from its vineyards.
In 2019, the winery completed the conversion of its vineyards, in fact 2020 will be the first vintage coming entirely from organic grapes.

Panizzi: terroir and highly aged wines

The passion, the investment of great resources and the improvement of the production model over the years have defined new and high quality standards, with priority attention to each vineyard and individual plot, highlighting their characteristics.

This development process has led over time to obtain innovative and exclusive results not only on Vernaccia di San Gimignano, but also on red vines, such as Sangiovese and Pinot Noir, giving rise to very high profile reds, strongly identifying the Sangimignano territory and united by the same philosophy of quality.

The Panizzi winery offers us a wide variety of wines including a vintage Vernaccia, the Vigna Santa Margherita and the Riserva recognized for its exceptional quality and great aging.
In addition, Panizzi was the first producer to offer a 100% Vernaccia Evoè “orange wine”, a wine obtained after a long maceration on the skins (6 months). Among the reds, Panizzi offers two versions of Chianti Colli Senesi, l&' vintage and the Vertunno reserve.

In the red range there are also 2 very special and unique wines: Folgore, Rosso San Gimignano Doc and Pinot Nero San Gimignano Doc. Panizzi is the first producer of Pinot Nero San Gimignano Doc.
