This wine is obtained from a selection of typical grapes from the Valtenesi area, the hills to the southwest of Lake Garda: Marzemino, Groppello, Barbera, Sangiovese. The Groppello is the ancient and most consistently native grape, but the others have also become endemic and have been cultivated in these lands for many years. The Negresco involves a long maceration of the wine on its skins and, after racking, a refinement for 12 months in 225-liter French oak barrels.
It is a seductive product with a beautiful tannic presence but also a glyceric roundness that enhances its pleasantness. Rich in red fruity elements, black pepper spice, and sweet spice. Light typical vegetal notes with balsamic nuances. Beautiful freshness and excellent persistent finish. Savory and broad with an intense fruity component and intriguing tertiary notes from noble aging.
Alcohol. 13.5 % Vol.
Pairing. Excellent with red meats, Fassona Piemontese steaks, and Chianina IGP Fiorentina. It also pairs well with particularly aged cheeses and good Bagoss from Bagolino. It also goes well with spiced cold cuts such as soppressa veneta or salame mantovano.
