The Spiralotti made with Senatore Cappelli wheat are fusillotti produced with a careful selection of organic raw materials and represent the combination of the Apulian and Trentino lands: the wheat that grows under the stones of Matera, the water and air of the Trentino Dolomites, where Felicetti pasta factory operates.

This variety of Apulian wheat is one of the best wheats overall and has many nutritional advantages, as it is rich in high-quality and highly digestible proteins. It also has antioxidant action and does not provoke gluten sensitivity preventing the habituation that could lead to celiac disease.

 

Senatore Cappelli Wheat


The hard wheat Cappelli is named after the Abruzzese senator Raffaele Cappelli, - here you can find the story of Senator Cappelli - who was a promoter of agrarian reforms and the revitalization of agriculture in Apulia in the early twentieth century. He supported the research of the geneticist Nazareno Strampelli, providing experimental fields of his own. This is how, at the beginning of the 20th century, the hard wheat Cappelli was born, which is very adaptable and of high quality as it is only cultivable organically.
