The vineyard located among the marls of the ancient district of Villa is the master vineyard from which everything began and where everything continues, an ancient vineyard that watches over the Negrar Valley from above. Campo di Villa is a treasure trove of values and affection.

Harvest. Hand-picked with grapes placed in boxes in the first week of October. A portion of the grapes has undergone drying for a period of 4 months until the end of January.

Amarone della Valpolicella Classico DOCG “Campo di Villa” - Nepos Villae: use in the kitchen

The Amarone della Valpolicella Classico DOCG Campo di Villa from the Cantina Nepos Villae is a gentleman in a top hat and tailcoat! In its sweetness and austerity of fruit, it expresses great elegance and beautiful complexity.

It demands spicy cured meats that are fatty and long-aged, such as a fine Violino di Chiavenna, a black pork ham from Sila, or a gray from the Casentino in Tuscany. Long-cured meats, Chianina IGP braises, game, tenderloin from the White Veal of the Central Apennines.

Excellent with great cheeses that are long-aged from the Italian tradition such as Castelmagno DOP, Bitto DOP, Bagoss, Vezzena Vecchio, Monte Veronese Stravecchio di Malga Slow Food Presidio, Caciocavallo podolico, Ragusano DOP.

Try the intriguing pleasure of pairing it with a touch of 50% single-origin South American dark chocolate.
At the end of the meal, match it with a rounded Toro Cohiba Cuban.

Tasting notes

Its ruby color has intense red reflections. A beautiful texture and a partial opacity. On the nose, it is decidedly complex with a lovely verticality of aromas. It expresses all the elegance of a limestone and marl territory, refined and genuine. Fruity with a pleasant sensation of cherry soaked in chocolate. A wine that emanates rich sensations of cocoa and wild black fruits.

Sweetly balsamic with nuances of gentle tobacco and chestnut honey. On the palate, it has a lovely freshness and a clear savoriness. It opens gently and presents an enveloping and captivating round tannin. Fruit and black pepper with delicate sensations of cloves and cinnamon. A decidedly almondy finish of long persistence.
