It is produced in Aquitaine around the city of Bordeaux, in the Gironde department, on lands located along the Garonne and Dordogne rivers. It is one of the wines that are less easy to pair with food and is characterized by marked tannins that can be astringent, especially when the wine is young.
Chateau Faizeau has a purple color, with a predominant fruity and spicy aroma featuring notes of blueberry and coffee. The taste is full, persistent, and balanced, offering delicious notes of blackberry jam.
Bordeaux is a wine that pairs very well with beef, lamb, game such as deer and chamois, and also with poultry. It pairs wonderfully with grilled meat and cheeses such as Camembert, Brie, and Roquefort.
