Chateau la Patache Pomerol is a wine produced at the Chateau la Patache property located in Pomerol. This area consists of 3.18 hectares divided into 9 plots, composed of fine gravel soil with clay and iron in the subsoil.
The grapes used to produce the Bordeaux wine of Chateau la Patache consist of a blend with 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc. On average, the vines are about 25 years old.
It undergoes an aging process: 30% new French oak barrels, 70% 1-year-old barrels.
Chateau La Patache is a wine with a ruby red color and a beautiful depth.
The first nose surprises with orange peel and truffle. After the circular movement of the glass, aromas of red fruit such as strawberry and raspberry combine with flavors of balsamic vinegar and licorice with hints of violet.
On the palate, a beautiful fresh attack emerges, developing the fruit. The long finish gives the impression of crunching into red fruit.
Chateau La Patache pairs best with all types of classic meat dishes, veal, pork, beef, lamb, duck, game, roast chicken, roasts, braises, and grilled meats. Excellent also with strong cheeses and chocolate desserts.
