The Bastide Dauzac is a French Bordeaux produced by the Chateau Dauzac and is one of the most beloved French wines throughout Europe.
The terroir of this winery is about 104 acres, with a soil rich in deep gravel outcrops from the Quaternary period. The average age of the vines is 35-40 years, and to produce the Bastide Dauzac, grape varieties of 58% Cabernet Sauvignon and 42% Merlot are used.
The grapes are carefully hand-picked and then placed in small crates. For the fermentation, a gravity flow tank is used to feed the fermentation room, which occurs in stainless steel vats with a cap breaking system.
The aging of this Bordeaux traditionally lasts for 18 months with racking based on the tasting results.
Bastide Dauzac is a very elegant wine, with an intense color and crimson hues. On the nose, it is very deep and showcases a combination of ripe red fruits and delicate wood with hints of coffee. On the palate, there is a complete and round attack. The body is balanced with well-integrated woody notes.
This Bordeaux pairs perfectly with white meat, grilled red meat with strong and intense flavors, and is also an excellent accompaniment for strong-flavored cheese.
