Pouilly Fuissé from the Mont Saint Gilbert winery is a white wine from Burgundy. This Chardonnay is truly excellent and possesses unique properties, and is finally managing to establish itself in the international market.
The designation of this wine is very old, dating back to 1936 from the area included within the Maconnais.
The entire area was submerged by the sea, and over the centuries the land turned out to be rich in clay, limestone, and fossilized corals capable of withstanding erosion.
This white wine presents a bouquet composed of mineral notes of almonds and hazelnuts, citrus, and honey. The consistency of this Pouilly Fuissé is rich and refined. It is very balanced both on the palate and in the nose.
Ideal for accompanying foie gras and shellfish such as shrimp and lobsters. The balance created between acidity and softness is perfect for pairing with white meats and flavored cheeses, while the aromatic quality pairs well with exotic dishes like couscous.
