The Montepulciano d’Abruzzo Classico DOC 2011 from the winery Il Quercetto is an excellent wine with roasts and grilled dishes, pairing well with medium and long-aged cheeses.
Sensory analysis: Ruby red color with purple reflections. First of all, the minerality, the hallmark of the winery, leather, red fruit, a iodized note, cocoa, black pepper; all elegant and in great balance. The sip is substantial, rich in extract, yet at the same time easy to drink, with a still gritty tannin, despite being a 2011 and the 36 months of barrique aging. It also has an acidic backbone, so it will still have more to tell us in a few years! The aromas confirm the complexity and elegance of the fragrances with good persistence.”
Serving temperature: 16-18 °C
