The BIO Dried Lentils, Lens Culinaris, from Azienda Agricola Fratelli Foschi are 100% organic and grown according to eco-sustainable agricultural practices in the magical hills of Romagna in the province of Forlì-Cesena.

The BIO Dried Lentils have a high nutritional value: they provide proteins, complex carbohydrates, as well as iron, phosphorus, and B vitamins.

Lentils also have good antioxidant properties conferred by substances such as flavonoids and niacin. Thanks to their thiamine content, they finally stimulate concentration and memory.

Delicious on the plate and beneficial for the body, lentils are perfect for enriching a vegan or vegetarian diet but can also be consumed by people with celiac disease as they are absolutely gluten-free.

The BIO Dried Lentils from the Azienda Agricola Fratelli Foschi are truly versatile in the kitchen. It should be noted that lentils, for certain varieties, are legumes that need to be consumed after drying; it is clear that, before deciding their use, it will be necessary to soak them before use.

Once the soaking is finished, the lentils should be rinsed thoroughly and then cooked in water for about 30 minutes on low heat with a lid once the water starts boiling.

After cooking, the lentils can be consumed whole as a side dish, perhaps with cotechino or zampone during the Christmas holidays, but also with other types of stewed meat.
