The Salco Vino Nobile di Montepulciano BIO DOCG 2015 from the winery Salcheto is a wine coming from the most mature vineyard of the estate, that of Salco. It is produced using a clone of Sangiovese Prugnolo Gentile which every harvest easily reaches a slight overripeness. After 2 years in wood, it ages for 4 years in the bottle.
The 2015 vintage has proven to be a year with a generally balanced climate for the region, characterized by an extremely hot August that significantly mellowed the acidity: the resulting wines are meaty and distinctly soft, practically "drink and enjoy." The Salco, vinified with only indigenous yeasts and without added sulfites, interprets this vintage with elegance and freshness thanks to the pedoclimate of Salcheto, from the clayey soils to the wide temperature excursions.
