The Riserva Vino Nobile di Montepulciano BIO DOCG 2015 from the winery Salcheto is a wine vinified using the “Governo Toscano” method made from slightly overripe Sangiovese Prugnolo Gentile grapes. It ages for 24 months in large and small barrels and then refines for at least 12 months in glass.
The 2015 vintage is undoubtedly one of the most impressive of its decade. It was marked by significant thermal stress in August, which particularly affected acidity levels. The result is wines that are “easy to drink,” fleshy, and soft, to be enjoyed perhaps over a shorter timeframe.
