The label: since ancient times, the oak tree has been considered a sacred and oracular tree. Its worship dates back to the prehistoric eras of Roman, Greek, and Celtic civilizations. A tree favored by gods and men, as keeping a splinter of this wood was believed to protect from misfortunes. This belief has reached our recent past when in Abruzzo oak leaves struck by lightning were collected and entrusted to poor recruits departing for war. It was thought that with this talisman, soldiers could not be hit by bullets, based on the belief that where lightning had struck once, it would not strike again.
The Primamadre Montepulciano d'Abruzzo DOP by Vini La Quercia is excellent for pairing with significant meat-based first courses or roasts. In particular, we recommend pairing it with timballo.
Red color with bright violet hues, intense and persistent undergrowth aromas, slightly astringent, with a strong body.
