Winemakers since the 18th century, the history of Maison Jeeper began in 1949. It was then, returning from World War II, that Armand Goutorbe, son of Victor Goutorbe, decided to develop and market his champagne. Armand Goutorbe named his brand “Champagne Jeeper” in order to distinguish himself from the numerous Goutorbe family members in the region, who were also winemakers, and in reference to the Jeep that the prefecture had granted him, to allow him to move around the vineyards. The activity of Champagne Jeeper is concentrated in the area of Faverolles and Coëmy, near Reims, in the north-west of the Champagne region. The production of Champagne Jeeper comes from 35 hectares of owned vineyards, and about 180 hectares of grape supply. Its main focus is on quality, both in production and winemaking.
