Massimago is a family-run business that was founded in 2003 thanks to the dream of the Rossi-Chauvenet family to produce high-quality wines from their estates, which have been owned since the 1800s. The ancient cru “maximum agium,” from Latin meaning the greatest well-being (Massimago), is a complex territory of vineyards and olive trees on limestone soils situated on hilly slopes up to 350 meters above sea level.
Massimago is a company led by women, with Camilla Rossi Chauvenet at the helm, who has stamped her mark since 2003, laying the foundations for a true and extraordinary qualitative rebirth. The company is located in Mezzane, in a slightly wilder area of Valpolicella compared to others, nestled in the homonymous valley, capable of creating an ideal microclimate for grape growing.
Today, it is Camilla who leads the family business with enthusiasm and passion. The production philosophy starts from the interpretation of an extraordinary territory for the production of powerful and elegant wines. Sustainability in the vineyard and in the winery, along with the company’s organic certification, make Massimago a true “organic farm” where modernity and tradition meet.
Since the second half of the eighteen hundreds, this interesting production reality has belonged to the Cracco family, the guardians of local traditions, now innovatively reinterpreted thanks to Camilla's drive, a true self-made woman who, with determination and enthusiasm, has believed in the potential of this extraordinary territory, capable of producing Amaroni of rare elegance.
From a sweet countryside house, Massimago has become an atelier, a creative laboratory. For 15 years, it has been growing and distinguishing itself from other wineries for its clear identity.
