Chateau La Patache takes its name from the lieu-dit where the vineyard is located. A small estate on the right bank, Chateau La Patache was first owned by the Larroucaud family in the 1800s. The members of the Larroucaud family also owned Chateau Enclos, another vineyard in Pomerol until 2006. Eventually, a group of investors, La Dillegence, bought La Patache in the 1980s.
They sold the property to Peter Kwok in 2011. The Vietnamese, Peter Kwok, now owns several properties on the right bank, including Enclos Tourmaline in Pomerol, Chateau Tour Saint Christophe, and Chateau Haut Brisson in St. Emilion, as well as Chateau Enclos de Viaud in the Lalande de Pomerol appellation.
