"We work with great passion so that Conegliano has the same prestige as Reims, Valdobbiadene the same charm as Epernay, and Prosecco the same notoriety as Champagne". Thus Gianluca Bisol, son of Antonio Bisol, describes the work of the family winery, famous for centuries for its innate love for the land and its fruits.
Bisol: a centuries-old passion for the land
The first testimonies date back to the 16th century and attest to the presence of the Bisol family in the historical heart of the Prosecco production area, specifically the territory known as "Chartice", the current prestigious hill of Cartizze. There are fivecenturies of history through which a family story unfolds over 21 generations, all sharing a love for the territory and for wine.
Eliseo Bisol had to face the challenges brought by the First World War and was forced to temporarily halt the small but flourishing trade he had established at the beginning of the century. The suspension of activities was due to the location of the Valdobbiadene territory, exactly on the border opposing the Austro-Hungarian army to the Italian one. In the mid-1920s, the family wine business regained its strength thanks to Desiderio Bisol, son of Eliseo. Nicknamed Jeio by his wife, Desiderio sought out the best lands to buy among the hills of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene in the post-war period, in order to give his wines the characteristics of those regions. Jeio then entrusted his children with different company roles: Antonio for administration, Eliseo for the oenological part, Aurelio for the vineyards, and Claudio for the general management of the company.
For all the generations that followed, the land has always been at the center of attention. The Conegliano Valdobbiadene area is the area of choice for Prosecco Superiore and includes 15 hilly municipalities of the high Treviso region. This area is characterized by the generosity of the land, although it is very difficult to work due to the conformation of its hills. The lands are steep and the winemakers work by hand in the vineyards with strength and effort. The hills are located between the Adriatic Sea and the Dolomites, and this position guarantees an exceptional microclimate: constant ventilation, perfect sun exposure, and the right temperature range. All these combined factors have allowed the Glera grape variety to achieve worldwide recognized viticulture.
The Bisol Winery: a hidden gem among the rocks
Carved into the precious rock and the land of Prosecco, the Bisol Winery is a treasure that perfectly preserves some of the historic Bisol bottles, the most prestigious produced over the centuries. Throughout the year, the temperature is maintained between 10 and 15degrees Celsius.
The family winery presents itself exactly as it was built, keeping every original detail intact. For this reason, this place evokes engaging emotions and intense sensations for anyone who visits it.
