The Roggia is the vineyard that sits on a clayey, silty amphitheater in the municipality of San Pietro in Cariano (VR). Here, the Corvina and Rondinella grapes are produced, from which this great dessert wine is made. The Recioto is the forerunner, the precursor, the very idea of wine in Valpolicella forever. This is where the story of Veronese winemaking begins. From here comes the great Amarone that the world appreciates. And yet he is the grandfather. It is a dessert wine that was once served sparkling to guests and was always kept in the cellar as a precious good. Over time, it has become still, but its magic has never ceased to remain strong in Verona.
It is a juicy nectar made from two grape varieties that have been withered for a long period of about 110 days. A caress on the palate, dense with cherry, red fruit, black spice, and depth. Shaped by an intriguing roundness with a distinct freshness that elegantly supports all of its softness. Rich in aromatic sensations of dried fruit, cocoa, gentle tobacco, licorice, balsamic elements, and sweet toasting.
Alcohol. 13.5% Vol.
Pairing. Excellent wine to pair with dry desserts made with chocolate or toasted dried fruit. Ideal for cream and chocolate ice creams. Pleasant in front of a winter fireplace to bolster any friendship. In Verona, it is loved to be enjoyed with a dry pepper biscuit called pevarin. We recommend it at the end of a meal with eyes closed... exciting!
Serving temperature. 13 - 15°C
