Speri is the flagship of Valpolicella in the selection offered in the store. One of the historic families of Pedemonte in the heart of the Classica area. A winery that was founded 7 generations ago and owns some of the best vineyards in the Fumane and Marano valleys. It has linked its name to a beautiful mountain, Sant'Urbano, a deep strip of peat erupted millions of years ago from the small underwater volcano where today a small sanctuary of Santa Maria Valverde stands. Since 2010, it has been producing grapes under certified organic management. A significant achievement for a family that has always been very attentive to the territory and its preservation. Its wines are very elegant and strongly interpretative of the Valpolicella Classica territory. Refined structures that testify to the strength of this primordial area.
Amarone della Valpolicella Speri is characterized by a straightforward personality and elegant style. A dandy with a top hat and tailcoat. If we could think of it stylistically in such a charming way. Yet it is a product of great elegance and provides emotions with every sip. An amarone that stands out for its fruity and spicy components with a fine tannic sensation. Beautiful mouthfeel with a balsamic freshness that elevates the fragrances and aromas on the palate. Excellent finish with a slightly bitter aftertaste and delicate sensations of chocolate, tobacco, chestnut honey, and toasted dried fruit. Great longevity for a product that offers great satisfaction even after 15 - 20 years. A treasure to be stored with love.
Alcohol. 15% Vol.
Pairing. A great wine for very succulent and complex dishes, red meat, lamb, game, mixed boiled meats, Chianina IGP steaks, Fassona Piemontese ribs, Romagnola, Modicana. Excellent with aged Castelmagno DOP, Monte Veronese DOP from mountain pasture Slow Food Presidio. With pieces of dark chocolate 50 - 60%. We also recommend it at the end of a meal or to liven up a conversation in pleasant company.
