And here you have the most typical tarallino of the Apulian tradition, the one with Bella di Cerignola olives! The tarallo is one of the most recognized products as Italian abroad. Produced mainly in Puglia but with a tradition that sees other Italian regions such as Campania, Basilicata, and Sicily involved. In Naples, it's believed to have had its first origin, but the legends about its first appearance are numerous and, like every traditional product in Italy, strongly contradictory. It is our story, our tradition from the small ancient villages anchored to the sea and the most inland lands. The simplest and humblest expression of street food. A delicacy today that has been revived and has even become a product safeguarded by national law, having been included in the PAT (Prodotto Agroalimentare Tipico). They were made with leftover bread, mixed with lard and wine. The Apulian version differs because it uses extra virgin olive oil, of which Puglia is a leading producer. The taralli produced and offered by DolceArea are the most traditional, handmade, twisted and knotted by hand, with chunks of product that make them unique and delicious. They are baked, and this is also their characteristic. Therefore NOT fried. They are unique Taralli in their kind... a surprise for our palates.
The Bella di Cerignola olive are the typical table olives from Puglia. The tarallino produced by DolceArea features chunks of olive that make them very tasty and unique in their type.
A pleasant olive sensation combined with the creaminess of the dough offers emotions from Puglia of times gone by.
We recommend them for every moment of the day as a snack and with a good chilled white wine during the summer.
