The Pinot Nero IGT 2012 is a wine with a ruby color and the clear transparencies typical of Pinot Noir, along with a beautiful brightness.
The olfactory impact is well defined; all the lively scents of Pinot Noir can be found, combining the typical aromas of underbrush with pleasant youthful notes of cherry and ripe strawberry. A delicate and typical hint of rose follows, along with a slight spiciness.
There's a beautiful harmony, a sincere balance on the nose, a dance between the incorruptible character of the grape variety and the delicate scents of flowers and red fruit. Elegant on the palate with a lively yet pleasant tannin, very persistent.
It comes from a 6-year-old vineyard located at about 700 meters above sea level, where this Pinot Noir has found a natural location and an ideal microclimate.
It is one of the most delicate and difficult grape varieties to cultivate; however, it is capable of producing extraordinarily long-lived and pleasant wines. The altitude, the proximity of a Mediterranean forest, the completely wild area, and the southern exposure have enhanced the typical characteristics of the grape variety.
Riccardo, with the passion that distinguishes him, has taken on the challenge of growing and giving life to a wine that, especially in Tuscany, has few interpreters, with the sole objective of making a Pinot Noir that is easily recognizable and not to be confused with Burgundian or other regional Pinots.
A nice drink as an appetizer is the Pinot Nero Baracchi Toscana IGT, especially one that's rich, like a beef carpaccio with truffle.
First courses with white sauces, such as the ragù of cinta senese, or white meats like rabbit porchetta.
Serve it at 18 degrees in a wide glass, drink it sparingly because, although you don't feel it, its 14.5 degrees can be an obstacle between you and your driving license.
