The Delica Pumpkin or Mantuan Pumpkin provided by the Azienda Agricola Milanesi Valerio is a work of art from the plains of Mantua with medium size: on average, each pumpkin weighs between 1kg and 1.5kg. Grown in the municipality of Mariana Mantovana, the Delica pumpkin is one of the flagship products of the province of Mantua.
One of the quintessential autumn foods, the Delica Pumpkin has an early ripening and features a dark green skin with light grooves that, upon reaching maturity, turn brown. Its flesh is compact and of a very intense yellow color, and it has a particularly sweet flavor, making it the chefs' favorite variety of pumpkin.
The Delica Pumpkin from the Milanesi Valerio Agricultural Company is a vegetable symbol of the Mantova area, and in fact, it is the main ingredient for the preparation of pumpkin tortelli and pumpkin gnocchi, popular dishes of Mantovan cuisine.
An exceptional ingredient for risottos and creams, the Delica Pumpkin is also a perfect variety for being cooked fried. Its cooking time is around 20 minutes.
