Bastide Dauzac is a French Bordeaux produced by the Chateau Dauzac winery and is one of the most loved French wines throughout Europe.
The terroir of this winery is about 104 acres, with soil rich in deep gravel outcrops from the Quaternary period. The average age of the vines is 35-40 years and to produce the Bastide Dauzac, grape varieties used are 58% Cabernet Sauvignon and 42% Merlot.
The grapes are carefully hand-picked and then stored in small crates. For the fermentation, a gravity flow vat is used to feed the fermentation room, which occurs in stainless steel tanks with a cap punching down system.
The aging of this Bordeaux traditionally takes place for 18 months with racking based on tasting results.
The Bastide Dauzac is a very elegant wine, with an intense color and crimson hues. On the nose, it is very deep and showcases a blend of ripe red fruit and delicate wood with hints of coffee. On the palate, it has a full and round attack. The body is balanced with well-integrated woody notes.
This Bordeaux pairs wonderfully with white meat, red meat grilled with bold and intense flavors, and it is also an excellent accompaniment for cheese with strong and intense taste.
