The Mastrobono Montepulciano d'Abruzzo Colline Teramane DOCG 2015 by Vini La Quercia is a truly well-structured meditation red.
Grape: 100% Montepulciano.
Production area: Morro d'Oro, Teramo.
Altitude: 210 m a.s.l.
Soil: medium texture.
Vineyard: cordon-trained, simple guyot.
Harvest: hand-picked, last decade of October after selection of grapes in the vineyard.
Winemaking: the grapes are destemmed and transported into cement tanks. The crushed grapes undergo fermentation at controlled temperatures with peaks reaching 30°C. Maceration lasts for about a month after fermentation ends, with daily movement of the must through manual pump-overs. After racking, it is allowed to “rest” for about 7 months in steel tanks, and then undergoes the natural evolution of the wine, maturing in large oak barrels for 24 – 36 months. Bottle aging lasts for about a year.
Alcohol content: 15% vol
First production year: 2006.
The label: a symbol for the oak of a new friendship, a rediscovered and others confirmed. A tribute to Mastro Melchiorre Bono, an Abruzzese stonecutter, a minor artist, little known like many others, fundamental in enriching the culture of the area.
Ingredienti: uva Montepulciano 100%
Allergeni: solfiti
The Mastrobono Montepulciano d'Abruzzo Colline Teramane DOCG 2015 from Vini La Quercia is to be enjoyed on its own with chocolate and a cigar or paired with red meats and game. In particular, we recommend pairing it with the following typical dish: agnello scottadito.
A meditation wine, super-structured, complex in aromas and body. Oxygenation is necessary: it is recommended to uncork it 4/5 hours before consumption.
