Barolo Riserva Perno DOCG 2004 750ml

The Barolo Riserva Perno DOCG 2004 by Sordo Giovanni is an impressive Barolo in every way that forcefully ranks among the great red wines of Piedmont. A austere, generous, and very long-lived wine that is considered a pride of Italian enology.

Training system: Guyot traditional pruning with a trellis.
Processing: Pig pressing and destemming, long submerged cap maceration for 4-6 weeks depending on the year.
Vinification: In stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature.
Aging: 6 months in steel tanks.
Refinement: 24/48 months in large Slavonian oak barrels.
Bottle aging: up to 5 years

Year: 2004

Acidity: 5.4 g/l
Sugars: 0.3-0.5 g/l

TASTING

Color: color and shades are quite marked and intense. Stable over time.
Aroma: bouquet always very broad, intense, and persistent. Sensations of great vinosity alternate with notes of ripe fruit, noble woods, spices, and licorice.
Taste: on the palate, a great sensation of warmth; acids and tannins are always very evident but leaning towards sweetness. The aromatic persistence is very long, and the longevity is remarkable.

Serving temperature: 18-20 °C
