The Maso Martis Company is a &' a young company that stands out in the world of wine for its originality and competence.
For the Stelzer family, it is important that each bottle reflects the year in which it was produced and that the attention with which they take care of the health of the vineyard is the same as that they pay to the protection of their daily living environment
Maso Martis was founded in 1990 from an ambitious business idea by Antonio and Roberta who had the goal of producing classic method sparkling wine. At that time it was a real challenge because this type of product from Trentino had not yet achieved the high quality reputation it has today with the Trento DOC territorial brand.
Currently, the production of the classic method is an integral part of the company, which has embraced organic cultivation over the years, obtaining the ICEA certification, both in the vineyard and in the cellar, starting in 2013.
Maso Martis is located in Martignano, at the foot of Mount Calisio (also called Argentario) above Trento, at 450 m above sea level: a mountain terrain that has been cultivated since the end of the 19th century, excellently exposed and caressed by the mountain breeze. The idea of safeguarding the healthiness of the grapes and the environment, has directed the company towards organic cultivation. The products signed by Maso Martis, in fact, come from organic grapes produced in-house and from those of small certified organic farmers from the Trento hill, a further guarantee of superiority for the final consumer.
Working with the biological method means exploiting the natural fertility of the soil by promoting it with limited interventions, promoting the biodiversity of our environment by limiting or excluding the use of synthetic products and genetically modified organisms (GMOs). L&' Azienda Maso Martis practices environmentally sustainable viticulture and the harvest takes place strictly by hand.
Since 1986, 12 hectares have been cultivated with vineyards on calcareous soil, rich in skeletons and red rock from Trentino. Today's production amounts to about 90,000 bottles per year, of which 80,000 are dedicated to Trento DOC. Trento DOC is unique, as is Trentino, a territory suitable for the production of bubbles. The base wine, necessary for its production, is obtained from the soft pressing of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Pinot Blanc or Meunier grapes.
Trento DOC is synonymous with the classic method, a production that requires a lot of passion, a lot of manpower and a lot of patience for long waits.
