Nido del Gelso is a young and innovative agricultural company that passionately focuses on the specialized cultivation of Redcurrants, adhering to the most meticulous criteria of SUSTAINABLE and ECO-FRIENDLY AGRICULTURE.

The company is located on the outskirts of the city of Verona, framed by a historic farmhouse "Ca Vecia", recently renovated to host events and cultural activities, and capable of offering high-level hospitality.

The goal of the owners has always been to develop an agricultural enterprise that reflects the traditional values of Veronese agriculture while adopting the most modern cultivation systems.

After thorough studies and research on the type of soil, the microclimate of the area, and other agronomic parameters, REDCURRANTS were chosen, a plant that is difficult to manage in many aspects but capable of providing great satisfaction in terms of fruit quality.

The quality of the fruits and their nutritional and health properties are closely linked to the cultivation techniques. This is why NIDO DEL GELSO has decided to use exclusively sustainable and integrated agricultural practices that significantly limit the use of agrochemicals compared to conventional agriculture. No insecticides that can harm bees and other beneficial insects are used. Synthetic fungicides are replaced with natural products and beneficial microorganisms that protect the plant.

All the plants are mycorrhizal to take advantage of the natural symbiosis between the redcurrants and certain soil fungi. Plant nutrition is performed exclusively with natural and organic fertilizers, which improve the quality of the redcurrants and do not cause environmental pollution.
