Four generations of tradition, passion, and excellence
The company, linked to the land for four generations, began in Castelnuovo dell'Abate with my grandfather Bramante, who later founded a workshop in San Angelo dedicated to the repair of tractors in the 1930s. Our story continues at Poggiolo, where today we produce numerous labels, each with a unique story and philosophy.
The true protagonist is my father, Roberto, who in 1971 purchased Il Poggiolo, a then-uninhabited estate without a cellar or vineyards. Despite the challenges, Roberto believed in the adventure and planted the first three hectares. In 1980, the first 4,000 bottles of Brunello di Montalcino, vintage 1975, were born.
In 1985, I started the first Cru of Brunello di Montalcino, the Sassello, following the logic of French Crus. In 1989, after my father's passing, I inherited the company and continued to produce wine as he would have done.
In this adventure, my partner Cecilia has played a fundamental role, contributing to my insights and maintaining a balance in a relationship characterized by her sunny nature and my moody disposition.
