Le Bontà di Miskiglio: scopri i prodotti

The producer Le Bontà del Miskiglio, led by Lidia and Franco, is an artisanal pasta factory rooted in the territory of Basilicata, specifically in Fardella (PZ).

The flagship production is the Raskatielli di Miskiglio, a truly rare format of handmade dry pasta made by mixing durum wheat, soft wheat, and fava bean flour: a millennia-old tradition that arose in centuries as a response to the poverty of local communities.

The connection with the Serrapotamo Valley and the Pollino Park gives authenticity, while the recognition as a Traditional Agri-food Product (PAT) is a sign of the local culinary identity.

Raskiatelli di Miskiglio: the bond with the territory

Situated in the Lucanian heights in the heart of the Pollino National Park, Bontà del Miskiglio has chosen to enhance this typical pasta, valued for its ideal microclimate for cultivating the raw material and utilizing that tradition passed down through generations.

Geographical context and history

The Raskatielli have roots in the 17th century when local communities mixed flours and legumes to ensure nourishment and energy during famines. Today, the Via del Miskiglio, a tourist route between Teana, Fardella, Calvera, and Chiaromonte, celebrates this history and its cultural renaissance.

Quality and passion in pasta production and beyond

Every stage of production is artisanal: hand-kneading, manual rolling and cutting, slow drying without additives, colorings, or preservatives.

Unique characteristics of the products

The product is certified PAT, a symbol of authenticity and local roots. Rustic texture, savory flavor with notes of legumes, flour aroma: a unique tasting experience.

The traditional pairing

The Raskatielli perfectly match with rich tomato sauces and sweet peppers, ideally served with a pinch of chili (and how could chili be missing in this territory?). They are also excellent with vegetable and legume-based sauces, extra virgin olive oil, and fresh basil: a robust and flavorful dish for convivial dinners.

A Lucanian treasure

Basilicata, with its unspoiled territory and peasant traditions, is home to products like the Raskatielli di Miskiglio that tell centuries-old stories and authentic gastronomic culture. Finding a producer (or rather two producers, Lidia and Franco) who know how to showcase their ability to produce but also decide to invest to share, promote, and commercialize such niche products has truly been a pleasant surprise.

All that’s left is to taste the proposed product: the Raskiatelli di Miskiglio with sauce, a dish practically ready that takes you straight back to the traditions of the typical flavors of the Serrapotamo Valley.
