Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG Classico “La Marogna” bio- Le Bertarole (MAGNUM)

The Marogna takes its name from the typical dry stone walls found in the Valpolicella Classica that surround vineyards and terraced fields. This particular cru is located in the sweet valley of Fumane, where the wines are fragrant with black cherry and white pepper. An ancestral landscape where small hamlets with pink stone roofs from Lessinia rise, and the vineyards stretch through ancient glimpses made of small streams, shady beeches, and watchful oaks. In the magic of this landscape lies the small vineyard of Marco and Giordano. A garden where the vine grows naturally and sometimes rebelliously, but freely. From this calcareous and clayey territory rich in minerals, the grapes are harvested in October and then left to dry for about 90 days. Subsequently, they are pressed and fermented for about 30 - 40 days at 15°C. The blend consists of 30% Corvina, 40% Corvinone, 20% Rondinella, 5% Croatina, and 5% Oseleta.

Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG Classico “La Marogna” bio- Le Bertarole (MAGNUM): use in the kitchen

The cru La Marogna bio is the most prestigious Amarone produced by the Venturini delle Bertarole family. It embodies the pure style of the valley from which the grapes originate. A gentle amarone, cherry-like, slightly spicy with beautiful drinkability and a distinct pleasure. It belongs to that category of Amarone that maintains substantial sobriety but intrigues with its taste harmony. The red fruits that emanate from the glass are found on the palate with a delicate finish of dried fruit and dark chocolate. The tannin is pure and suitable for long aging in the bottle. Freshness is the defining trait of this Amarone which has a long life. A slight balsamic sensation enhances its pleasantness and makes it versatile even at the table.

Pairing Amarone della Valpolicella

It is an important wine that, however, has versatile characteristics that make it effective with numerous foods. Certainly ideal for red beef, limousine, charollaise, and Chianina IGP. Excellent with aged cheeses such as Parmigiano Reggiano DOP 30 months or Grana Padano Riserva DOP. It also pairs well with game dishes, both fur and feather. Great as a dessert with a piece of spicy Modican chocolate.
