Guyot and Sylvoz vineyard on medium-textured soil with a good percentage of stones as the tradition of great soils for the best Merlot requires. 12.5% Vol.
Red vinification. This wine sees only steel and for this reason, it retains all the characteristics of fragrance and freshness typical of it.
The Merlot is pronounced differently whether it's Veneto or Friulano, but it is part of the extraordinary popular wine tradition of the two northeastern regions. In Friuli, it is pronounced Merlot with an emphasis on the "t". In Veneto, however, it is said el Merlò and the "t" is almost not pronounced at all. Yet, it has always cast a shadow over the classic glass from the tavern of the typical Venetian wine. A French grape variety that arrived here with the Napoleonic armies and was greatly appreciated by the people. The hills of Treviso still possess ancient vineyards that hark back to the history of the brief French domination in the early 1800s. It is from these vineyards that this wine comes, interpreting, with its freshness and pleasantness, this noble grape typical of Bordeaux.
The notes of fresh, still-crisp fruit emerge both on the olfactory and aromatic levels. Small red fruits and cherry with slightly peppery spice components and a nice vegetal and underbrush typical component. Excellent freshness and drinkability in the most authentic Venetian tradition.
It pairs very well with traditional Venetian cold cuts like soppressa, lightly smoked pancetta, and lardo aged with spices and aromatic herbs. Pleasant for first courses based on meat sauces. For grilled meat and beef tagliata. It also pairs very well with medium-aged cow's milk cheeses. To be tried with malga caciotte and black pepper.
